T O T E M

A mysterious place the living have seldom found
Found me there with my back turned.
I reach for the stars by kneeling on the ground.

The pale revealing light made something in my sound,
And just as easily, my fears were burned.
A mysterious place the living have seldom found.

From incomprehensible shadows, you drifted into my soul--
I lost my grip on the reins of my mind, and so it wanders,
And I reach for the stars by kneeling on the ground.

I closed my eyes and saw myself as I am now.
The open and troubled mind always ponders
The mysterious place the living have seldom found.

This vast universe has set a lofty goal
For you and me; so let us together on life's path maunder,
And, love, reach for the stars by kneeling on the ground.

Your thought is deep within me, and all around.
What I ask is everything, though I expect nothing.
In a mysterious place the living have seldom found,
I reach for the stars by kneeling on the ground.
