This section gives brief summaries for all chapters that have been translated by Megchan. Thus, they obviously contain spoilers, so read at your own risk. The purpose of putting this here is three-fold: 1) so that people can get a feel for where the story is going, 2) so that old-timers can refresh their memory on what has happened when a new chapter is released without having to completely re-read older chapters, and 3) so that new-timers who WANT to be spoiled can spoil themselves silly, if they want to.

Volume 1 Volume 2 Volume 3
DISC (VOLUME) 1: 100% Tamer!!
CHAPTER V-1: 100% Tamer!!
Taichi Yagami is a kid who loves playing the Virtual Pet game Digimon. He enters a tournament but is disqualified for having a monster that was never programmed into the game. While trying to figure out what was wrong with his toy, he gets suddenly transported to the Digimon World, where he meets his "never-before-seen" monster, Zeromaru the V-dramon (called Zero for short). The only clue Taichi has as to why he's in this world is that he has to go to Holy Angel Castle. They meet Gabo, a Gabumon, who was injured by an attacking Tortomon on the way to Holy Angel Castle. After making a deal to stop the Tortomon in exchange for guiding them to Holy Angel Castle, Taichi and Zero defeat the Tortomon, much to the surprise of Gabo. And so, they venture off towards Holy Angel Castle.

CHAPTER V-2: Reversal Combination
Together, Taichi, Zero, and Gabo make it to Holy Angel Castle. There, they find a bunch of Agumon training under the harsh auspicses of the militaristic Leo, the Leomon. Taichi says that digimon would do better if they were trained AND cared for, but Leo believes that digimon should be pushed to their limits. He also points out that a human-trained digimon is not strong, and Zero looks weak from all the coddling Taichi gave him. Naturally, this provokes a fight, but instead of fighting Leo, the tamer-digimon combo face up with a Kuwagamon that was trained by Leomon. Although Kuwagamon was too fast for Zero to catch, a plan by Taichi gave them victory. As Leo began to realize who they really were, a mysterious digimon steps out to announce the reason for why Taichi was brought to this world.

CHAPTER V-3: The Continent of Folder's Military History
Lord Holy Angemon was the one responsible for bringing Taichi to the Digimon World, much to Taichi's dismay. He apologizes but explains the reason for Taichi's coming. An evil Digimon named Demon threatens to take over the Digimon World. In a castle in the center of the continent, it is rumored that he is raising a super-ultimate (super-mega, for Americans) egg. So, it's up to Taichi and Zero to defeat Demon. Despite the severity of this task, Taichi light-heartedly accepts, which does not please Gekovitch, a Tonosama Gekomon, who thinks the digimon don't need the help of a human. Directly threatening Taichi, a battle ensues, but through Taichi's plan, they defeate Gekovitch, proving to all parties present that they are 100% strong. And so, they take off to defeat Demon.

CHAPTER V-4: The Five Tests!!
Much to his dismay, Gabo has to guide Taichi and Zero around the Digimon World. Gabo informs our heroes that the castle where Demon is in was once inhabited by the God of Digimon, who made it such that no human could enter the castle. However, the God also created five V-Tamer tags, which no digimon can touch, that would allow a human to enter the castle. Zero then volunteers to take on Demon by himself, instead finding the tags, but Gabo calls him a fool, citing that Zero is only an Adult (Champion) digimon and there are many Perfect (Ultimate) digimon in Demon's army that will crush him. Suddenly, Etemonkey (an Etemon) shows up, proclaiming his orders from Demon to kill our heroes. Recognizing him as a Perfect , Zero attacks Etemonkey to prove Gabo wrong, but Etemonkey easily shrugs the attack off. Moreoever, Etemonkey proclaims how he has placed 5 Perfect digimon at each V-Tamer tag location. Rather than killing them outright, Etemonkey thinks it will be more entertaining to see them struggle. Laughing maniacally, Etemonkey rides off, leaving an angered but determined Zero.

CHAPTER V-5: 100% Ready!
Gabo is worried that the digimon-tamer combo is depressed over their inability to even touch Etemonkey. However, Taichi thinks nothing of it and enjoys the scenery. Gabo tells Taichi to worry a bit more, especially because Zero seems to be in shock. Suddenly, Dark Tyrannomon and Deltamon appear, stating they won't allow anyone to enter the valley where the first tag is. Despite Gabo's pleas, Taichi states he doesn't need to give any orders to Zero, because these two digimon aren't even Perfects. However, if they beat them, they'll find the boss who's guarding the tag. So, Zero takes them on and defeats them, again, much to Gabo's surprise. It seems that Zero wasn't in shock, but rather, in complete determination to defeat the Perfects. Unbeknownst to our heroes, however, Etemonkey watches them celebrate their latest victory, while Triceramon proclaims that they will never get the tag.

CHAPTER V-6: The Threat of the Perfect!
Applying some very bitter-tasting herbs in order to treat the wounds that Zero incurred on his arm during his last battle, Taichi shows how a tamer takes care of his digimon. Suddenly, Triceramon shows up. Zero throws several punches against the Perfect digimon, but there's no effect. Triceramon launches his finishing move: Tri-Horn attack, which Zero barely dodges, and demolishes a whole hill. Triceramon reiterates how Perfect digimon are, well, perfect and Zero cannot possibly defeat them. However, Taichi claims that as a digimon-tamer combo, they have a chance. Thinking a human is of no use, Triceramon throws Zero into the air and gets ready to crush him in his mouth. Taichi orders Zero to roll over just before Zero lands in Triceramon's mouth. Watching all the action, Etemonkey thinks Zero is finished: no one has ever escaped from that position. However, Triceramon suddenly gags and spits Zero out. The arm that was bandaged with the bitter herbs got into Triceramon's mouth. Declaring that they'll show Triceramon the taste of defeat, Taichi and Zero get ready for round two of their first full battle against a Perfect.

CHAPTER V-7: The Reason for Victory...
Vowing not to be beaten by puny human tricks, Triceramon once again throws Zero into the air and gets ready to crush him in his mouth. However, this time Taichi orders Zero to fire a V-Breath Arrow straight down into Triceramon's mouth: his weak spot. Triceramon collapses and the heroes think they have won, but Etemonkey knows the victory is being celebrated too soon. Although his body is quite mangled, Triceramon gets up and fires a Tri-Horn Attack at the group. Zero pushes Taichi and Gabo out of the way and takes the attack full on. Triceramon states that human strategies are worthless, but Zero, who is now also mangled, states that instructions are not the true power of the tamer. Gabo is worried Zero might die if he pushes himself all the way, but after seeing the look of determination on his face, Taichi tells Zero to give it all he's got. Triceramon wants to attack back, but he knows that if he uses any more power, he'll die. Zero lands a punch against Triceramon, causing him to collapse. Zero, then also collapses, as Taichi rushes over to take care of him. As Triceramon fades away, he realizes that the true power of a tamer comes from the fact that a digimon can fight to his limit, because his tamer will always be there to cure him. Etemonkey shows up to congratulate them but points out they have a long ways to go, considering Zero took so much damage from this one fight. With the Tag of Earth in hand, Taichi vows to get the remaing four V-Tamer tags.

CHAPTER V-8: Burning Training!!
Arriving at The Net Ocean, Zero jumps into the water to search for the second V-Tamer Tag underwater. Unfortunately, he's never swam before, so he doesn't realize you can't breathe underwater. Taichi resolves they'll need to train to swim, but a Gomamon swimming in the ocean laughs at that proposition. At The Net Surf Village, the Gomamon introduces himself as Gon and explains that a demon recently showed up in the ocean, forbidding anyone from swimming. Our heroes deduce that the demon must be the Perfect sent to guard the second tag. Gon thinks it's impossible for Zero to learn how to swim, but Taichi states that if digimon work really hard, they have limitless possibilities. So, the training begins, but one day, Gomamon is attacked by a Gesomon, henchman of the Perfect, because he was swimming in the ocean. Zero swims (sort of) to rescue Gon, and when the Gesomon realizes it's the same Zero that defeated Triceramon, he rushes off to warn "Lord Marine." Everyone is impressed that Zero was able to swim (sort of), and so Gon resolves to train with Zero and Taichi to get stronger. Meanwhile, Etemonkey, watching all the action yet again, gets confirmation from Lord Marine, a Marine Devimon, that our heroes won't get the second tag.

CHAPTER V-9: A New Power, "Digivice 01"
Swimming with ease, Zero and Gabo are elated at the training's success, but Taichi seems to have other things on his mind. Meanwhile, Gon swims towards a large mound on the bottom of the ocean. The mound tells Gon it's too dangerous to come, but Gon reports that some travellers who are looking for the V-Tamer tags have come. The mounds rustles out of the ground, and Whamon asks Gon to bring them here. When out heroes arrive (without Gabo), Whamon swallows them up, and explains how the Digimon World is inside of a computer; a monster's true form is just 0's and 1's. However, a virus, like Demon, can destroy this arrangement, so that's why Taichi and Zero must save this world. However, Taichi reveals that he's worried that his commands won't get through to Zero underwater. Whamon explains that there are support programs, like himself and Holy Angemon, that will help the tamer. He then summons the Digivice 01, which allows Taichi to communicate to Zero and has some other features, like scanning how much health (HP) a digimon has. With his task fulfilled, Whamon proclaims Gon to be the next protector of the ocean and ends his own program. Suddenly, Gesomon and Octomon attack, but with the Digivice 01, Taichi was able to help Zero destroy the two henchmen. Now, 100% even underwater, our heroes get ready to face the perfect.

CHAPTER V-10: Deep Saver
Arriving at the village holding a DigiEgg, Gon reports that this is all that's left of Whamon, and he vows to fight alongside of Taichi and Zero, despite Gabo's and the villagers' pleas. Meanwhile, Taichi and Zero meet up with Lord Marine, but Zero can't get any attacks in, because Lord Marine is too fast. Coming up behind him, Lord Marine grabs Zero and gets ready to fire his attack, but Gon smacks him from behind, allowing Zero to escape. Lord Marine knocks Gon away, and Taichi scans Lord Marine to discover that his HP has dropped dramatically. Realizing that Lord Marine's specialty is speed and not defense, Taichi uplinks a plan to Zero. Zero, then, goes to the bottom of the ocean and creates a cloud of sand. Lord Marine knows he's trying to hide himself and goes near the surface in anticipation for Zero's need to breathe. However, knowing that Lord Marine would be there waiting, Zero lands a two solid punches, which destroys Lord Marine. Arriving back at the village, Gon looks in bad shape but is glad to have helped Zero and Taichi. As he feels himself dying, Taichi notices Gon's HP going up, and Gon digivolves to an Ikkakumon. So, with a new protector of The Net Ocean and the Tag of Sea in hand, our heroes set off once again.

DISC (VOLUME) 2: Another Tamer
CHAPTER V-11: Combination Breakdown
At Demon's castle, Demon accuses Etemonkey of playing around too much, since Taichi has two tags, but Etemonkey assures him that he knows their weakness. Meanwhile, our heroes enter an ominous area, with a cemetary and eerie Nightmare Castle, where the third tag supposedly is. Zero proclaims he's not afraid at all...but truthfully, he's scared witless. Taichi tests out other functions of his Digivice 01 and discovers he can upload various data to his monster, like food or herbs. Suddenly, the trio find a Patamon who doesn't want to be left alone and promises to show them where the tag. As they traverse Nightmare Castle, Zero continues to be scared by little things and feels jealous over the praise Patamon receives from Taichi. Our heroes find the third tag right away, but suddenly laughter and smoke fills the room, causing them to feel sleepy. Patamon zaps Zero, and Zero sees Taichi praising Patamon even more, choosing him as a partner over Zero. Waking up, Gabo wonders what the smoke was, Taichi wants to get a move on, but Zero feels quite unnerved. Suddenly, a Candmon attacks, whom Zero quickly dispense of with only a minor scracth. However, Zero accuses Taichi of being a bad tamer to allow him to get hurt. Zero, then challenges Taichi to fight him with Patamon, and Taichi readily accepts.

CHAPTER V-12: Nightmare Battle
Watching the impending battle from a monitor are Etemonkey and Vamdemon, who both relish over the fact that the weakness our heroes have is the bond as tamer and monster. Thus, using his Nightmare Wave, Vamdemon was able to destroy that bond. Taichi tells Gabo to get ready, much to Gabo's shock, and then Taichi tells them to run, as that's the only way to win. Zero, astonished by the actions, sulks off, but Vamdemon orders his minions to keep hitting Zero with the Nightmare Wave, in order to drive Zero insane enough to kill Taichi. Meanwhile, Taichi and Gabo discuss what exactly happened to Zero, when Patamon reveals himself to really be Bakemon, who first infected Zero with the Nightmare Wave. Taichi immediately scans Bakemon with the Digivice 01, but Bakemon knocks him down. Gabo tries to fight him, and with some advice from Taichi, actually defeats Bakemon. Taichi, slightly injured, asks Gabo to take the Digivice 01 and to uplink the data to Zero. Suddenly, Vamdemon shows up, and Gabo runs away. Thinking that he's been betrayed by all his friends, Vamdemon looks at Taichi with glee in hopes of seeing him in despair, but Taichi stares right back with defiance. Slightly angered, Vamdemon slaps Taichi around and then ties him up, waiting for Zero to return to kill his beloved tamer.

CHAPTER V-13: Wake Up! Combination
As an incensed Zero makes his appearance, Vamdemon orders him to kill Taichi. Firing a V-breath arrow, it looks like the end, but instead, the chains that tied up Taichi were destroyed. Gabo reveals that he uploaded the antidote for the Nightmare Wave to Zero, which Taichi had scanned from Bakemon. However, Zero points out that not only was the antidote uploaded but also the feelings, risks, and injuries Taichi endured to save Zero. This prevents another Nightmare Wave from working. Thus, Vamdemon attacks with a Night Raid to blind Zero. Taichi tries to upload the antidote again, but Vamdemon points out how that won't work. Feeling ecstasy in watching them squirm with despair, Vamdemon is surprised to find a look of defiance on Taichi's face yet again. Thus, again, Vamdemon grabs him and smacks him around, but this was all part of Taichi's plan. Taichi did not try to upload the antidote to Zero again, but rather he told Zero to aim for his head. Firing a V-Breath arrow, Zero hits Vamdemon and not Taichi. With Vamdemon gone, the castle disappears, and using the antidote, the heroes free all the monsters possessed by the Nightmare Wave. With Etemonkey regretting haivng to face Demon, our heroes set off with the Tag of Illusions in tow.

CHAPTER V-14: Hot Contest!! Star Battle!!
Stopping to rest at Star City, our heroes meet up with Starmon, the self-proclaimed star of Star City. However, the local digimon treat Taichi and Zero as the real stars, due to their infamous exploits against Demon. So, Starmon challenges them to a battle for the title of being the star of Star City. Taichi accepts in order to try out a new battle strategy: using his notebook, in which he recorded the details of all the battles they've had, he scans the information using the Digivice 01, which can instantly be uplinked as data to Zero. The first battle is singing. Starmon's Gekomon sings well, so Taichi uplinks the data from their battle with Tonosama Gekomon to Zero. However, a doodle of poop is also uploaded to Zero, causing him to feel the urge to poop. With this urge, however, he sings with great vibratto, beating Gekomon. Next is an arm-wrestling match with Tyranomon, so Taichi uplinks the battle with Triceramon. But once again, a doodle of Angewomon is uploaded as well, causing Zero to act VERY feminine. This enrages Tyranomon so much that he uses all his energy and reverts to a digiegg. Lastly is a speed battle with Starmon: if Zero can touch him within 3 minutes, he'll win. Uplinking the battle with Marine Devimon, Taichi's practices at autographs was also uplinked, causing Zero to announce an autographing session. Jealous over the attenion, Starmon also announces an autographing session, giving Zero the opportunity to touch him. Having lost, Starmon resigns his title, but asks Zero and Taichi to come back as often as they want. Touched by the move, our heroes leave, with Taichi wondering if he should erase his doodles, but Gabo tells him it's better to leave them as is.

CHAPTER V-15: Another Tamer
Back at Demon's castle, Demon once again accuses Etemonkey of playing around too much and orders an Ogremon and Devimon to attack him. Etemonkey easily fends them off, telling Demon that he's the one who will be in trouble. However, suddenly, a human boy walks out belittling Etemonkey's abilities. Demon states that after seeing Taichi's exploits, he understands that only a human can raise a monster to its full potential. Thus, he summoned this boy in order to raise super ultimate egg that Demon has. With two digivices in hand, the boy commands Ogremon and Devimon to jogress into SkullSatamon, who knocks Etemonkey for a loop. Etemonkey tries to tell the boy that Demon plans to invade the human world after taking over the Digimon World, but the boy could care less. Finishing Etemonkey off, Etemonkey questions the boy's humanity. Meanwhile, our heroes enter Metal Factory, where the fourth tag should be. After quickly disposing of a MechaNorimon, the boy that Demon summoned shows up, belittling Zero's abilities. Telling Taichi that it's been a while since they last met, Taichi recognizes the boy as Neo Saiba.

CHAPTER V-16: Tamer Battle!!
Taichi explains that Neo was the D-1 Champion: a tamer that no one could beat. Although Taichi thinks he will join them in their fight against Demon, Neo proclaims that he has been summoned to raise Demon's super ultimate egg. Neo claims that helping Demon will weed out the weaklings of this world, and Taichi promises to open Neo's eyes, even if it means beating him. Suddenly, a Metal Greymon comes out, the Perfect that was guarding the fourth tag. With tamers behind both digimon, Metal Greymon takes the advantage as a Perfect, beating Zero soundly. However, Taichi notices that there's more to it, as Metal Greymon proclaims he is not trash throughout the fight. Metal Greymon explains how he was once a Greymon that was thrown away by Neo long ago. Rebuilding himself as Metal Greymon, he will now prove his usefulness to his tamer. Meanwhile, all this time, Neo has been scanning Zero's defenses, and now planning to scan his offenses, Neo tells Metal Greymon to take attacks. Zero begins to beat Metal Greymon soundly, but Taichi, sensing something amiss, tells him to stop. With Zero 98% scanned, Neo has no further use for the "metal trash" and deletes Metal Greymon. Angered at how Metal Greymon tried so hard to please his tamer but still got deleted, Zero readies to pound some sense into Neo.

CHAPTER V-17: Anger Overload!!
Zero questions whether Neo can scan his anger, and Neo claims he can, seeing Zero's power increased by 25% due to his anger. Summoning an Ogremon and Devimon to fight, Neo states it will take about one minute. Taichi feels there's something suspicious, but he lets Zero fight anyway, who beats the two digimon soundly. However, as one minute has passed, Neo commands Ogremon and Devimon to jogress into Skull Satamon, completely replenshing their HP. SkullSatamon grabs Zero by the neck, incapacitating him, and Neo comments on what a poor tamer Taichi was and the humuliation he had received. Flashing-back to the D-1 Grand Prix, Neo had won the championship, and Taichi, who was disqualified for having the unprogrammed Zero, asked if he could battle the champion just to see how good he was. Neo begrudgingly did so, but they both tied, which is impossible for the game. Still, Neo won't forgive the fact that he tied with some third-rate tamer. Zero, despite being choked, gets angry over Neo's insults, and with great strength, he rips apart Skull Satamon's grip and defeats him in one punch, as Neo scans that Zero has exceeded his maximum power. Without regret, Neo tosses Taichi the fourth Metal Empire tag and promises to wait for them at the Tree. Our heroes resolve to meet him there, too.
