Bachelor of Science from California Institute of Technology in the Engineering and Applied Science department.
Concentration: a split of Computer Science and CNS. completed June 98
Course work completed:
- physics: mechanics, electricity&magnetism, special relativity, quantum mechanics, statistical thermodynamics, lab courses in waves and particle collision/scattering
- computer science: C, C++, and Java programming, object oriented analysis and design, algorithm development, program proofs, grammars, graphics, and simulation
- neural systems/information: general neurobiology, artificial life, independent research in artificial life, information theory and complexity.

Research/Work experiences (by employer):

Jobtrak - [11/94 to 11/95, then again 8/96 to 9/97]: Wrote the code to run Jobtrak's web presence. The project involved: C, CGI, Perl, OCI, SQL, tweaking httpd server source and the early design work. Also took on their sysadmin duties for Solaris and Hp-UX boxes.
Self-Employed consultant - [11/94 to 11/95, 9/96 to 4/97]: Unix programming and administration consulting services.
"Platzgeist" at Art Center College of Design - [4/96 to 9/96]: Coded an interactive cdrom for the New Media graduate school at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena.
Fraserlab - [4/95 to 11/96]: System/Network administration of an IRIX and NeXtStep cluster.
BILRC - [10/94 to 1/96]: System administration for the Beckman Institute Laser Resource Center.
Chemistry Animation Project - [03/94 to 09/94]: Programmer/sysadmin for a group to produce educational chemistry videos, adminning SGIs, RISCs, and using the Wavefront packages for modeling, rendering, and animation.
